Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

    2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
    3. Open “Settings” and access “Display”
    4. Optionally, enable or disable “Adaptive brightness”
    5. For timeout settings, tap “Sleep” and select a lower value like “15 seconds”

    Enable Battery Saving Mode:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Access “Device”
    3. Tap “Battery”
    4. Tap “Menu” and enable “Battery saver”

    Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the device’s connectivity features when not in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
    2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
    3. Launch “Settings” and go to “Location” for GPS options
    4. Tap “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
    5. Return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    6. Tap “Tethering & Portable hotspot” and disable the feature

    Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks”
    3. Tap “Mobile networks” > “Preferred network type”
    4. Enable “2G”

    Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: you can change your accounts’ settings to reduce sync and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Accounts”
    3. Select an account type
    4. Tap the desired account and change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

    Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. By disabling or remove unused third-party apps, you can potentially improve battery life in the long run.

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Apps” > “All apps”
    3. Select the desired app
    4. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable”
    5. To remove an app from the phone, tap “Uninstall”

Keep the OS Up To Date:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check if new updates are available:

    1. Open “Settings”
    2. Access “About phone”
    3. Tap “System updates”
    4. Check if new updates are available for download
    5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (the update process will require at least one reboot)
