    Factory Reset

WARNING! When you factory reset your phone, your personal data located on the phone’s internal memory will be deleted, including apps, ringtones and other media files, downloads etc. Furthermore, all settings will be restored to factory values, however data located on the SIM and SD storage won’t be affected.

NOTE: Before resetting the phone, you can check this thread for a guide on how to back up app data, and this thread for instructions on restoring data.

    Factory Reset via Settings:

    1. Launch “Settings”
    2. Go to “Cloud and accounts”
    3. Tap “Backup and restore” and optionally enable or disable “Back up my data” and “Restore”
    4. Return to “Settings”
    5. Go to “General Management” and tap “Reset” > “Factory data reset”
    6. Tap “Reset” again and if your device is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password and tap “Continue”
    7. Tap “Delete all”

    Factory Reset via Android Recovery:

NOTE: If your phone prevents you from resetting it using the method above, alternatively you can try resetting the phone via Android Recovery:

    1. Turn the phone off
    2. Then press and hold “Power” “Volume Up” and the “Bixby” / “Home” buttons simultaneously
    3. Release the keys at the Android screen
    4. Once in Android Recovery, navigate the menu by pressing “Volume down” repeatedly
    5. Highlight “Wipe data/factory reset” and press “Power” to select the highlight
    6. Then highlight “Yes – delete all user data” and press “Power”
    7. After the process completes, highlight “Reboot system now” and press “Power”

    Reset Network Settings:

NOTE: By resetting network settings, you will remove all saved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections, while data restrictive settings, background sync settings, and network selection mode will be restored to factory values.

    1. Open “Settings’
    2. Access “General Management”
    3. Tap “Reset” > “Reset network settings”
    4. If your phone is protected by a lock screen, enter your PIN/password to proceed
    5. Tap “Reset settings” to confirm
