    NOTE: For a guide on how to back up app data, contacts, and media files on the Samsung device, visit this thread.

    Restore Contacts from SD Card:

    1. Launch “Contacts”
    2. Tap “Menu” > “Settings”
    3. If necessary, tap “Contacts to display” > “All contacts”
    4. Tap “Import / Export contacts” > “Import from SD Card”
    5. If needed, select the backup file you want to restore and tap “OK”

    Restore Media Files from SD Storage:

    1. Open “My Files”
    2. Tap “SD Card” > “Menu” > “Edit”
    3. Tick the check boxes associated with the media files you want to restore
    4. Tap “Menu” > “Move” > “Internal storage”
    5. Tap “move here” or alternatively, you can tap the folder name or “Create folder” to restore the files to a different location

    Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:

    1. Connect the Samsung device to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
    4. Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
    5. Copy and transfer the files back to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
    6. Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

    Restore Media Files from a Mac Computer:

    1. Connect the Samsung phone to your computer via USB
    2. Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
    3. Open Kies on the Mac
    4. Inside Kies, click the “Back up / restore” tab
    5. Access the “Restore” tab and tick the check boxes associate with “Photos”, “Music” and other media file types you want to restore
    6. Click “Restore”. If necessary, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
    7. After the transfer is complete, eject he phone storage by dragging the phone’s virtual drive from the desktop and dropping it into the “trash can”
