I can only recommend the Audigy. With the latest drivers it works perfect. But I would take at least 2oooMhZ Intel. with 528 Ram.

    My! what a difference!

    The clarity is much higher!

Updated drivers even support IntelP4 new multi-threading.

I outgrew the SBlive a long time ago.
The sound quality is NOT the same.

In a few days I get my Audigy 2
    - they call it the servicepack of Audigy 1.

I hope my problem is solved.
    Ill post a reply soon

Micijanus, how much memory is in your system?

I have 768 MB and have no problem with sound cut offs.

If you go for one of the older cheaper AWE32's you can bung loads of the old 80pin memory on it, I think it was about 28 mb sample memory, on the other hand the new SB cards use ur internal memory if you have enuff

    hmm........
I would use an SBlive of some description. Most other cards out there now support DLS format samples...so you would have to use somthing like awave to convert the format.

If you are a cakewalk user (9.0 or above) you could use livesynth pro which has a software SF2 synth.

    Hope this helps
