    If you have internet access on your mobile, then there is a way to send text messages without the normal carrier fees. Someone coded a program that emulates an ICQ connection but through your java enabled phone. ICQ allows you to send text messages from their client for free. All you pay for is the internet connection. If you are on a per MB plan, than you should know a typical txt sent this way is about 1 kb.

    ICQ caught on to it and shut down the website that offered the J2ME app...

    If anyone knows how to install these sort of things please explain!
