Thanks for your input....I really liked the Motorola phone, especially since I like using the datebook, and the color is great....the options are wonderful........its a good difference between the two phones.... I did find out that it was set to I think it was 800/1900, instead of the three......I was able to change that when I was fooling around with the phone and the reception is better in the house now.

It was not switching over to Cingular Extended inside the house, but my nokia did....

So, I did go back and had them switch it for another Motorola and it is working better, but like you said, the nokia is still better reception wise and loudest as well... I also have a problem hearing on the Motorola.

Well, anyway thanks for your feedback.Cathy

Well the Motorola V400 is not a very good phone for reception. I am surprised you had a problem with the x427, it is one of the best phones on our network. But sticking with Nokia is always your best option, they make the best phone and nothign can beat it, and depending on your area the actually hardware for the towers may be made by them as well. As for the V400 I have had 3 of them directly from Motorola. I actually was testing software in areas of weak reception for them. They could never fix the problem. So I have a v400 I don't use anymore, I am back to my Nokia phones 3595, 6200, and 6800, so thats my take on it. Since I work for Cingular I thought I would let you know.

Okay, I know this is going to sound crazy but heres the facts....

I signed up for Cingular because Verizon has stiffed me yet for another outrageous bill!!! Don't plan on using it..... Anyway Cingular started me out on the Samsungx427, cute phone but reception was awful!!!

So, I went back and they told me it may be the phone to try another phone and see what happens...They will extend the 14 day trial because of this.....Okay, so I agreed....

I was told to try the motorola v400 because it is a quad phone, different from the Samsung which I believe is a dual band phone...Okay, well I figured that would fix the problem.

I can't even use the phone in the house. Well, I still have the same problem. Anywhere in the area...at work, in the parking lot, down the street....this phones reception is absolutely horrible.....I was hoping the reception was good, I really like this phone!!!! I tried calling voice mail 5 times and continue hang up......call ended...Now at times I can at least use it outside my house...sometimes that is....

Okay, so what I did was dug out my Nokia 3595 I had from trying service with T-Mobile, I unlocked it to see how this one would work, and guess what......I can use the phone in the house...outside my house...at work....What's the deal??????? I really really liked the Motorola V400 why can't I use that one????? Can anyone give me any reason.....why V400 sucks, reception wise?

    Appreciate any feedback...Thanks, cathy

I GUESS NOKIA ROCKS!!!!! THAT'S ALL THERE IS TOO IT!!!!!!
