    it will work if your old cell phone is a cingular phone and your new cell phone is the same (cingular) but if you have cingular in the state and using a different sim card in hawaii i don't think that will work unless you have a unlock cell phone. just make sure that the new cell that you getting is unlock, so you can put any sim card there is in the world.

    i have a plan based out of TN with cingular(nationwide roaming and free lond distance) but i am temp. living in hawaii. If i put my sim card in a new GSM phone while i'm out here will it still work? The customer service lady said it would frie my sim card. (i am getting a Ericisson T226, had moto flip T)? is this true...
