When I first told them to close my account, the first thing they said is that I have to fullfil my one year contract with them (even though I have been with them for 4 years), never asked why I wanted to leave. I had been a good customer with them for a long time (spend $200+ monthly), and they never offered any break. I'm actually ashamed of myself for staying with them for so long (laziness on my part).

    Anyway enough of a story.

    Helloooooo, you didn't wait for the end of your contract. You're libel period.
    Unfortunately NONE of the phone companies care about your last four years. The fact that you jumped around to 2 other providers would lead one to believe that YOU ARE AT FAULT. I've had a cellphone for the last 12 years, ATT sucks and I have had no problems with TMobile.
    Again, you must finish your contract and that goes for any contract.

    Yeah, that does suck... you definitely want to be careful with leaving one provider and switching to another provider... and be aware of the fine print. Especially if you'd been with one service for four years... stick it out a few more months or so before switching... and see if you can't get in on some sort of deal too.

    And do check out that credit report... something like this could do some damage and possibly hurt your chances of being accepted by another provider... even though you can have pretty bad credit and still get a phone... I mean you know your credits really bad if you get turned down by a cell phone provider! I hope the penalty for early departure wasn't much more than one or two hundred dollars... hopefully it'll be worth it to leave them...
