i had a motrola v-220 but i recently got rid of it because it told me in the adverts that it had videos on it but i thot it meant i could tape my own clips, it didnt so i was a bit disappointed, but other than that itsa good little phone and i never had ne problems with it!!

I have seen your link.I had the same issue when trying to download the firmware,I had to use a program such as DAP to ensure the completion of the file, and it worked.I love my W231, you just need to plug it to your PC and got it.

Hi guys,

I have a Motorola V551J. My sister just gave it to me. 3 years ago, she used it to take a photo of my (then) 1-year old daughter. We also took plenty of regular photos on good old fashioned film. Unfortunately, the roll of film was never developed and lost on a vacation. So now, the only photo we have of my kid's first birthday is locked into the phone. See where I"m going with this? I gotta get that picture. To compound matters, the screen on the phone doesn't light up anymore because my sister broke the screen shortly after the birthday party..

I was able to find a charger for it, and it boots up, so I know the phone is working, just not displaying. I also ordered a USB cable connector, so I can get my computer to recognize the phone...thats how I learned it was a model V551J. The phone is communicating.

I think I've figured out that my PC won't recognize this phone immediately like it does my digital camera. Instead, to download a program to get the photo off there, I think I need that Phone tools 4.0 program to do it with, buy to complicate matters even more, there is a "XXX" written into the URL for it, so my work computer won't let me get there because it thinks its porn!

Guys, I'm on other forums. For almost two decades, I've been helping clueless newbies get information on other matters. How about a little Karma payback? Can someone dumb down a solution for me? Can someone post a tiny URL for software that will extract this photo? Or otherwise guide me to getting this photo off? Excuse me if this isn't the right place to post this.
