you can use the same sim but the phone wont work right to its full potential. the new sims hold so much more. and plus u need the new sim number to get insurance on it.

Frist all, 830 have bad reception. Think twice! I think you should wait for i860.... Anyway, take your phone to Nextel Service center and have them do a "Read and Write" for you and that will transfer all you numbers to the new phone. As far as your service, just call Nextel and do a "Sim swap"!
Hm.............

I don't think i90 will work with 830, I think only i95 and up will work.

Yeah just get blackberry i730. Much more durable and reliable.
Getting the 830 was the worse thing I did. I saw it in a nascar shop, it looked great (mainly gazing at cover which was also a mistake) so i bought it, ran down to my nextel contractor and got everything setup. I just had it decactivated 2 days ago, and got my 730 re-activated.My signature owns yours.

I work in a service center and everyone who upgrades from the i730 to the i830 says it works much better than the i730. And the blackberry is not a 730 or the 730 is not a blackberry.
A service center will charge $15 to program. If you have the cable for the i90 then purchase one for the i730. It will be cheaper in the long haul. It is the same cable for downloading ringtones and wallpaper. I also use it to back up my sim card.
