    how ever long you want them to be!! Keep in mind the longer they are the more mem the use up. And also a good thing to think about is the fact that the longest your phone rings is 30 secs! So anything more would be a waste. Avg ringtone is 20 - 35 secs

    Your phone will orginally ring for exactly 15 seconds, so 15 second ringtones are an ideal lenght. If you'd like though, you can call nextel customer service and have your ring-time extended to 30 seconds in no time.
