USB sucks!!! nah it is great after you get it installed... Much faster than serial.. 1st make sure you installed the usb.exe file! Windows in not just plug and play (what gave you that idea?).
If you did install it and still having problems:
Plug in your phone. Wait 20 secs for your computer to react to it. Then go to control panel - system - and then device manager. Delete the unknown device usually hanging out in the Universial Serial Bus tab. Then close system. In the control panel go to modems. Delete the motorola or iden modem out. Reboot your computer (besure to keep your phone plugged in). You will now get a new error click install automatically and it should be ok to use now. See that, it was simple now why didn't you think of that? After you get it going we will talk about the phonebook thing that is called manager.

I'm using Windows 2000 and USB. Every now and then when my comptuer won't connect to the phone I either A) Keep the phone hooked to the computer and turn it off and back on again, or B) Remove the Data Cable from the USB port, then plug it back in, since USB is plug-n-play it picks it up immediately.

You may have blown out the usb drivers in webjal... Not windows. Go to my site and under file galleries and nextel programs and files you will see "a usb fix requires usb.exe" It is and update driver for webjal. Download it and unzip it to your webjal directory should be under program files motorola and webjal or something like that. If you put it in the right directory it will ask you to replace the files. Choose replace. If it doesn't ask then you may not have the right directory.
