Does this only happen when you try to place cell calls or when you try to DC too..

Restricted service usually means that the phone is not activated or you are out of the coverage area for the plan you have.

This happened to my old I60. Try turning the phone off & then back on, this fixed mine. Also, the tech suggested taking an eraser & cleaning the battery terminals in the phone & bending them out a wee bit. Hope this helps.

either a soft reset by turning the phone off and taking the battery out then turning back on...or you can do a master reset and that should take care of it. u can call nextel tho and have them troubleshoot it...perhaps the tuning resources are off!

    Solution

    NO BILL PROBLEM....smart arses

No worries as previously suggested try turning phone off and on for a quick fix. If not call free phone tech support, they'll delete the bug.

Nothing to do with the battery or your bill just an error that happens with nextel like errors can happen with any phone you can get.

    but....

That doesn't look like it is the case here. If someone doesn't pay their bill I would hope they would know.

I know the restricted service tends to be a mistake more commonly with older models.

This usually happens when the old school 3-digit models and 4-digit models are trying to access someone on Nationwide Direct Connect as they cannot do cross-fleet connections (i.e. market-to-market). Could also be a problem of not having the service activated on the phone due to software glitch or not being provisioned for the service.
