I got a boost phone with a nextel sim card, a nice dealer unlocked a boost phone for me to be able to get nextel on it, because i was to cheap to buy a nextel phone. the boost phone was an i730 it only cost me 60 dollars, if you wanna get a boost phone with nextel service, some good advice bad idea! you are going to run into warranty issues, but i like the boost phones but i wanted a nextel phone. you can get a boost phone with a nextel sim card, ask a friend or someone who can do it, or better yet ask any nextel sales rep. to do it for you.

all is not lost on the warranty. Yes you can not take it in to a service center but you can still send it back to motorola for the 1 year warranty (www.mot.com/iden click support then my repair options). Just when it comes back it will not except the nextel sim and will have to be unlocked again.

i have a alot of questions: isn't Boost mobile part of nextel(owned by it or affliated with it)? their isnt a certain age limit for boost mobile plans(i cant imagine one, but cant their be one because it cost money to use boost phone and some young kids might not have money to pay it off)? what is so special about boost mobile(only for those that are 18 and up)? how do you unlock a boost phone to get nextel service on it?

boost and nextel ones are the same. expect nextel is premium, and boost is pay for what you use, but i gotta admit, i love the boost phones so much, i wanted a nextel one but when the dealer offered me a boost phone 55 dollars i took it because a i was to cheap to buy a nextel one, are you kidding me? i expected a special offer on a nextel phone, i dont wanna pay like 200 dollars or more or i only wanna 50 dollars for a phone that is the most i wanna pay for a phone. i also gotta admit dont they ever have advertisements on tv for nextel, i love the boost mobile commericals, especially the old ones(the ones that got old ladies in it and the music in it and the end when it cherps and says where you at?), they tempt you to get boost mobile, go on yahoo launch site(music station) they have boost commericals their, with famous rappers in it, those sound tempting, i guess thats nextels strategy to get more profit. i dont want to get boost service cause it is a ripoff, but the boost advertisements on tv and online look so seductive and appealing.

Yes Nextel owns it or owns a large share of it.

16 years old. When you buy it the store may activate it for you or may not. If they activate it for you they will ask you your birth day.. If you are older than 16 it will let them do the activation. When they activate it they can only activate pay as you go. You must call to change it to monthly. The monthly plan on Boost must be attached to a credit card. Now credit cards are for people over 18. If you go with out the monthly plan you can get prepaid cards and pay as you go with needing a credit card.

The main thing about boost is no credit check and no commitment. Nextel pushes you to go into a 2 year contract but if you pay a lot more you can get a 1 year. Nextel will run a credit check on you and you must have good credit established to get it with out a deposit (ranging from $50 to $1000).

Nextel does advertise but, they do it for the business sector. So you probably wont see it on launch or mtv. They ussually show they walkie talkie do extraordinary things to save a business time and money. There is one on tv right now with 2 guys argueing over why it is called a BLT and mayo is not included. Why they are argueing the plan has an emergancy and steam, alarms, and red flashinglights are everywhere. The manager with out loosing a beat still in the heated debate solves the problem over the 2 -way.

im gonna be honest i havent seen the nextel comericals. but do they have a nice music tone in it just like in the old boost mobile commerical(the ones with the pedestranians) the same one or different one?. boosts walkie talkie service is similar to nextels direct connect plan, expect that boost is a premium pay for what you use plan, u pay a dollar and 50 cents a day(only if u use it that day no matter how much u use it even for a minute, its a premium charge for that day once you use walkie talkie). nextel has a premium plan for 36 dollars a month, you pay even if you dont use it, as long as the plan is activated you pay that charge every month, because they count that as you wanting their service. i have a question will they they take a boost i730 in good condition with a few scratchs on it? is the warranty still good now? does boost offer data, emergency, and either stuff nextel has to offer (beside walkie talkie and cellular service on it and downloaind ringtones)?

boost'smonthly plan is $49 and comes with 200 mins unlimited 2-way and unlimited nights and weekends unlimited text messaging, unlimited wireless web, unlimited nation-wide 2 way no long distance on cell or 2 -way..

So nextel is $39 for 400 $10 more for nationwide 2 way $5 for the web $15 for unlimited text messaging.
So if you compare apples to apples, $69 for 400 min a month on nextel after you add it all up. Granted not everyone needs all the extras.

if your phone is under a year old it is still covered under warranty. Just when you get it back from motorola it will be locked again and you will have to go back and unlock it again. 911 is always free and they offer stuff like telenav and a name that song service. So yes. the website is www.boostmobile.com

I already knew about that boost monthlyplan ive visited dealers that do boost mobile, it doesnt fit my wants and needs. only if boosts monthly plans were like nextels what about a plan from boost mobile that would be
unlimited local walkie talkie, 5000 whenever minutes(after only .20 a minute, unlimited weekends(beginning fridays at 12pm), text up to 200 messages(after only .25 a message) for a charge of 49.99

i already know about nextels plans(most of em), but the thing with nextel is that they think they can charge $20 extra for unlimited incoming, the incoming plan should be 600 minutes instead of 500 for a charge at 55.99, what a ripoff on the incoming plans)

ok i get what your saying. never knew about the motorala warranty, i already know 911 is free, i already know about the boost mobile site, why telling me stuff i already know?

i wonder where i can watch a boost commerical online,my favorite one is the one with the pedesternians(any one either the black one or white one), loved the music tone in there id love to watch that anytime it will brighten my day . . . . . . then its kinda nasty . . . . remember the two old guyz surrounding the lady one is pushing is private part on her front, and the other is pushing his on her ass : that commerical is funny
