Just wondering if anyone has any ideas as to why Nextel coverage in the NYC Tri-State has sucked so bad in the last few months. I can barely complete phone calls since they are either: 1)dropped at some time for no reason, then the bars appear again on the phone. 2) Or, I get some message on my phone that the call failed, if not then an operator message saying all circuits are busy now. It is really crazy how bad the service has been lately. I used to have the i836 and now have the i870. So my phone is in good condition. People I talk to have many other providers and they have good service and no dropped calls. It is always my phone that has problems since I call land lines and still have the same problems. I don't want to switch but I feel like I am getting ripped off since I am paying for a service that I can't use. You would think NYC area would have good coverage. Does anyone know any reasons to why the coverage has been so bad.

according to a nextel rep explanation, which sounds logical, too many BOOST MOBILE users out there and congested the network. All high school kids r using them...not to mention, each of them might have a few at one time.
    I think network just overload.

Maybe it's time for "raising the bar"...know what i mean ?
