    Re: i860 probs...

ok...what happens is...when I turn the phone on...it says i860...then 10 seconds later it goes to the blue screen like it's going to start up...then it shuts off...

the only way I can turn the phone back on is to take out the battery...and put it back in...

I can't connect to the phone at all...and I really want to get this thing running again...

I have a feeling that there is a problem with the code plug...but I can't connect to the phone to get the code plug...

    help me please!!!

going back and forth between nextpimp huh?
Like we said on the other forum, take it to a service center and have it looked at. If you modded your cp and messed it up your out of luck and have to buy a new phone. Basically you have to tell us what you did to it so we can help you fix the problem.

    Re: i860 probs...

What happened was...I had an i860 that I got from work...it was a phone that some guy dropped into a bucket of water...

the old mobo worked for a little while...but would get really hot and kill batteries...so I got another mobo from someone else...

I put the phone together with the LCD from the old phone (that works fine) and this mobo does what I said it does...turns on, i860...wait 10 secs...blue...then off...

I didn't touch the codeplug or anything...

I thought just swapping the mobo would work...because I really want an i860 phone to work for me...but I've been hitting walls this entire time...

I wish someone could help me get this phone working...because my everyday phone is dying...

    Thanks,

    SnaveZ

where did you get this board from? used from someone or new? It almost sounds like you bought a bad board.

Sounds like my problem. Phone fell in the water, I put a new battery in the phone and when the phone stars its a low battery and phone gets extremely hot. How do I fix?

Sounds like it needs to be flashed, you can flash it with Xflash program, kinda complicated to use but it will work. The one I have is version 3.2 I dont know if theres a recent version.

    2 thinks I would do.

First, remove board from flip, front housing, back housing. Spray the board with control/contact cleaner & lubricant (actual name and can be purchased at radioshack) let the board sit in the sun for 2 days, then install it again and retry.

If problem remains, remove board once again and get it completly wet with alcohol and clean every connection with a qtip or small brush (alcohol will never ever ever hurt or damage your board) I use I.P.A Alcohol, but I heared that rubbing alcohol works as well.

Hope it helps, it helps me all the time.
