I've had Nextel for about 5 years or so. Got it because it was the only cell provider that had a signal at my house (still is). I have no complaints about their service. I commute about 30 miles to work & only hit 1 dead spot on the way. I've only had 2 phones, the i60 & now the i730, both working flawlessly, 24 hours a day. I haven't even had to replace the battery. I have had no problems with customer service either. I just called to extend the number of rings before my voicemail picks up, & the fellow knew what he was doing & did it immediately. I must be in the minority, huh?

No, you're not in the minority. There are plenty of satisfied Nextel customers out there, but the reason we hear so many complaints here is simple. I've worked in retail management in the past, and one of the most valuable pieces of information my boss ever gave me was this: If a customer has a very pleasant experience with your company, they might tell one or two of their friends about it. But, if one customer has a bad experience, even a minor misunderstanding, they are going to tell everyone they know and even complete strangers. They're going to shout from rooftops about their bad experience. So, this is IMHO the reason we hear so many complaints and so few praises. Thanks for putting your 2 cents in.

great to hear when people like the service. Nextel was designed for the business customer, the customer who needs instant communication. I love it. Of course I get to carry it free of charge, but its great. I drop more calls from my Cingular phone than from my Nextel phone!

Re: Am I the only one?
i have no issues with my service either *knocks on wood*. a lot of my friends had nextel but for whatever reason they had really bad service. my best friend lived next door to me and we couldn't even talk to each other period. so they all switched over to sprint, they haven't had any issues, even though when i talk to anyone with sprint i seem to have at least one drop phone call lol
