Hey, I just bought an i730 off of someone and every time i try to make a phone call, I get a service restricted error. I cannot connect to the net either, so I think that, too, is tied with this. Whenever i put my SIM card back in my i205, it works perfectly fine. I can make phone calls and sent texts. However, when i put it in the i730 it just won't work. This morning when i tried it, the i730 was working and i could call and text. However, after school I realized it again stopped working. Do you guys have any idea what the problem could be? Thanks a lot.

Re: Getting Service Restricted Error
No that won’t do it. It is a bad phone. If master reset did not fix it the phone is bad. If it were an old sim less phone then an imei/serial change would do the trick but even then a master reset would bring no service not service restricted. Do #,*, menu, -> real fast and it should come up with unit info. Scroll up and you will flip around to the bottom. You need resets. Choose resets you will prob see a lot of RAAAA or RBBBB errors. This is a transceiver failure and means the phone is over clipping (over transmitting) and the software is shutting down the transceiver.
The only other thing that brings service restricted is the alternate line selection. This is very common. It is the little 1 or 2 next to the signal. Most people do not even know it is there. If it is a 2 and you do not have a 2nd line then you will get restricted while calling out on the cellular. The only thing effected is calling out. Incoming, 2 way, and net are not effected.
