How-to: Read, Create and Edit Microsoft Office Files on Your Nokia Lumia 900

The Nokia Lumia 900 features a mobile Office application that enables you to open and edit Word, Excel and PowerPoint files. The Office app found on the Nokia Lumia 900 includes Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint and Windows SkyDrive. This guide will cover the basics on how to read, create and edit Microsoft Word and Excel files.

How-To: Read Microsoft Office Documents on Your Nokia Lumia 900.

1. Tap the arrow icon at the top-right corner of the Start screen.
2. Select "Office".
3. Swipe the screen until you reach "Documents".
4. Selecting the desired Word, Excel or PowerPoint file will automatically open it with the appropriate application.

NOTE*: If you wish to pin a document to your Start screen press and hold the desired document then select "pin to start".

How-To: Create or Edit a Word Document on Your Nokia Lumia 900.

To Create a New Word Document:

1. Follow the first three steps mentioned above then continue as follows:
2. Press the "Add" icon depicted as a "+"symbol.
3. Select a desired Word template or a blank Word file.
4. Type in your text via the on-screen keyboard.
5. When you're ready to save the file press "Menu" (the icon depicted as "…") then tap "Save".

To Edit a Word Document:

1. Access the Office application as described above.
2. Select the desired Word file.
3. Press the "Edit" button depicted as a pen.
4. To change text format and color, highlight a word (or multiple words by dragging the arrows at each end of the highlighted word) then press the icon depicted as a brush.
5. If you wish to search for a specific word or text in the document press the "Search" sensitive key found on your Nokia Lumia 900 then type in your search terms.
6. Once you're done editing your file press the "Menu" icon and select "Save".

How-To: Create a New Excel Workbook on Your Nokia Lumia 900.

1. Access the Office app and swipe to the "documents" screen.
2. Press the "New" icon depicted as a "+" symbol.
3. Select an Excel template.
4. Tap a cell in order to enter the desired text or values.
5. Once you're ready to save your file press the "Menu" icon and save.

NOTE*: To add a comment to a cell tap the "Comment" icon depicted as a square=shaped chat-bubble.
NOTE**: To apply cell filters press the "menu" icon and select "apply filters".
NOTE***: To Change cell and text format go to "menu" and tap "format cell".
