I presume you mean unlocking the network!
Well, if you unlock your fone you can use sim cards from all networks not just the one your fone was signed 2!

Right if u buy a fone on o2 da fone will be locked to o2 sim cards ONLY! but u can unlock it to use a Vodafone or any oder network sim!
U get it now?

I unlocked mine with a CD I bought off a guy on ebay called refugeeman & it actually did the trick.

You may need Griffin box if you want to unlock a large volume of Nokia phones.
Terminator dongle, Smart-clip, UFS-3, N-box, Griffin II box ....
