When turning on the phone it has the two hands that hold and has a ringer, Is there a way to either shut that off or change it?

Is 128mb the max I can put in the phone or is there an outside source to buy from that will go to lets say 256 or 512? and are those companies that offer larger memory chips safe?, the chips that is...

I'm also having problems getting the software to connect to the phone from time to time, I highly doubt its my computer, but could be. Any tips?
