no sound on 6280

I was halfway through playing a video with the phone and now there is just no sound - on videos, ringtones (so it doesn't ring, only vibrates), mp3 player or from normal key tones when I scroll through the menu.
The only noise it will make is the key sounds when I dial a number, or radio through the headphones.
I have checked the speaker volume is high enough, the audio is not muted, I have restored to factory settings, and tried taking the battery out and starting the phone up again. My nearest service centre is very far away so please could someone help me!

nokia have just told me that i'd need to send it to be serviced - no-one here knows of any other way do they?
