Hi , I haven't posted on here for a while but I just got the phone mentioned above today and for the life of me , I can't figure out how to use the camera. The manual says go to menu>tools>camera but I can't find tools - I've been all over the menu and cannot find anything to select to activate the camera . I think that what really frustrates me here is that , after all of this time , the orientals can't print a manual that is free of errors or omissions on how to use the things they're building for us . A few months back I bought a Kenwood car stereo and an entire set of commands was omitted from the manual on how to program the display to exit the demo mode. I had to go on line to get the answer . It really makes me want to go back to my older Motorola phone on which the camera was bad but all I had to do was to press a button once to get to the camera .

With the steps that you stated, it should be there. You can't really expect much from such a basic phone. But yes, it would've been nice to have a dedicated camera button.

^^That was a very ignorant statement. Nokia leads all in terms of cell phone manufacturers, and no one comes close to them. Nokia assumes that the consumer is smart enough to figure it out because generally, the user interface is (along with Sony Ericsson) the easiest to learn when taken right out of the box. And if you're wondering, that did offend me.

    Very ignorant? That's a bit extreme .
"Nokia assumes that the consumer is smart enough to figure it out because generally..."
Perhaps you are correct but obviously many are not as mentally gifted as you . Do you own one of these phones ? As I stated the manual says to go to menu>tools>camera , yet I went through the menu many times and never found tools even in a submenu . My Motorola had a tools icon directly on the menu. I 'm usually pretty decent at figuring a new device out given a little time . Someone showed me today to hold down the button on the right side of the phone today , which I had done , but obviously not long enough , to get the camera to activate . I'm glad for the ease of use of this function and I do like this phone .
So , if the great Nokia ever assumes , and you know what they say about that word , right ? , then why do they even bother to send out a manual with the phone? If all of the people who buy their phones are so smart then they shouldn't need one based on your logic . I would , on the other hand , induce here that a manufacturer would want to publish the best possible manual that they could for their device so that no one would have to guess about any function , feel frustrated with their device (which may cause a consumer to return the device and buy another brand from that point on) , or have to try to contact said manufacturer and cost both parties lost time and aggravation. And we know how good tech support is usually (I said usually!) these days . Oh well , thanks for your time and derogatory statements ! By the way, do you work for Nokia ? If so , perhaps you can advise them on the deficiencies in their manuals.

Nope, I don't work for Nokia. If I had a choice for what to work for, it would be Sony Ericsson.

^This is what I was referring to. To you, they may seem like neutral words. But to others, it can be offensive because it can be taken as being racial.

    Re: nokia 6102i camera

I've owned a Nokia phone for a long time, and it lasted forever. I thought that I will never buy any other brand. But not too long ago my brother decided to buy a Nokia 6102i. I tell you, I was not very impressed with it. For example, the alarm of Nokia 6102i is very lousy and the menu is not intuitive comparing to the old Nokia phone that I used to have.
    Tell me what you think?
