    Hey,

I'm currently looking for a new cell phone with only a MP3 player and 3G (With tethering option) and a large external memory possibility. Not a smartphone with apps, touchscreen and all the other fragile stuff on it. So I was wondering if Nokia still makes these? I was a big fan of the old nokia cellphones: reliable, extremely solid, more or less shockproof, etc.

Is there anybody who could help me out?

    Grtz,

    Chris

    Hi Chris,

As far as I know, nowadays Nokia is mainly focusing on its Windows Phone smartphone line-up (Lumia etc.). The manufacturer has pretty much shifted towards smartphones, as everyone did during these past few years.

However, Nokia has also released a handful of regular phones during the past 6+ months or so.

There's the Nokia 301 which is pretty old-school (non touchscreen, physical numeric keypad, classic design language etc) it has 3G and microSD card slot. It's been released a few months ago and you can check it out on Nokia's website

There's also the Nokia 206 and the Nokia Asha 205 which have been released in the fourth quarter of 2012. Unfortunately, these two don't have 3G network capabilities, but they do have expandable storage.

If you're going a bit further back and don't mind an older model, you can also check out the Nokia E6 or the C3 (though the C3 does not have 3G connectivity). There probably are a few other options out there but this is all I can say right now off the top of my head.

Keep in mind that some devices might or might not be available in your region (I couldn't know).

    I hope this helped!

If it isn't a smartphone, you might have trouble finding one with a tethering option. There might be other ways to tether though, such as by downloading a program on your computer and connecting your phone to the computer.

Another good Nokia phone with the features you requested is the Nokia 2600. I have been using 2600 classic and it works great. And it battery lasts for 4 days on average usage.
It has a good casing which looks beautiful.
