Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when clearing an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including login information, custom settings etc. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Apps & Notifications
  3. Make sure you See All Apps
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  6. If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to and access “System
  3. Tap “Reset options
  4. To reset network app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps
  5. To reset network settings, tap “Reset WI-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth” > “Reset settings” two times
  6. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase everything

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: If third-party apps cause issues and prevent from being removed, you should be able to remove problematic apps while in Safe Mode, where third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. On the home screen, press and hold “Power
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. After the phone finishes rebooting, you should notice a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
  4. To remove an app, first open “Settings” then access “Apps & Notifications
  5. Switch to “All apps’ if necessary
  6. Select the desired app
  7. Tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  8. To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone normally
