Clear App Cache/Data:
NOTE: If an app causes issues or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing the issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when clearing an app’s data, all of your data stored within the app will be deleted, including login information, custom settings etc. To avoid this, clear ONLY the app cache:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen and launch “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Make sure you See All Apps
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache”
- If clearing the app cache didn’t fix the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)
Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:
NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to and access “System”
- Tap “Reset options”
- To reset network app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps”
- To reset network settings, tap “Reset WI-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth” > “Reset settings” two times
- To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (factory reset)” > “Reset phone” > “Erase everything”
Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:
NOTE: If third-party apps cause issues and prevent from being removed, you should be able to remove problematic apps while in Safe Mode, where third-party apps are disabled by default.
- On the home screen, press and hold “Power”
- From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off”
- After the phone finishes rebooting, you should notice a Safe Mode watermark in the lower area of the home screen
- To remove an app, first open “Settings” then access “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “All apps’ if necessary
- Select the desired app
- Tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
- To exit Safe Mode, reboot your phone normally
