Enable Battery Optimization:
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery”
- Tap “Battery optimization”
- Select an app to optimize and optionally, you can tap “Menu” and enable “Advanced optimization”
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar on the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open “Settings” > “Display”
- Tap “Advanced” > “Sleep”
- Select a lower timeout value
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can disable the phone’s connectivity features when they are not actively in use to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, swipe up from the bottom
- Tap the “GPS (location)” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to disable the features
- Tap and hold the "Wi-Fi” toggle and set the switch OFF to disable Wi-Fi
- For additional options, open “Settings” and tap “Network & Internet”
- To disable Wi-Fi Hotspot, go to “Hotspot & Tethering” > “Wi-Fi Hotspot” and set the switch OFF
Uninstall Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Certain third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. To remove third-party apps:
- Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Apps & Notifications”
- Switch to “See all apps” if necessary
- Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall”
- Tap “OK” to confirm
Keep the OS Updated:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “System”
- Go to “System update”
- Tap “Check for update”
- Follow the prompts to download and install updates
