Clear App Cache/Data:

NOTE: If an app causes problems or takes up too much storage inexplicably, you can try fixing these issues by clearing the app cache or data. WARNING: when you clear an app’s data, all of your personal data stored within the app will be deleted, including settings, save files, login data etc. To avoid losing personal app data, clear ONLY the app cache.

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the home screen
  2. Launch “Settings
  3. Go to “Apps & Notifications
  4. Make sure you view “all apps
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap “Storage” > “Clear cache
  7. If clearing the app cache didn’t solve the issues, tap “Clear data” (check the Warning above)

Reset Network and App Settings, Factory Reset:

NOTE: Make sure you’ve backed up all of your data before factory resetting the device.

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Scroll to and access “System
  3. Tap “Reset options
  4. To reset app settings, tap “Reset app preferences” > “Reset apps
  5. To reset network settings tap “Reset Wi-Fi, Mobile & Bluetooth” and tap “Reset settings” two times
  6. To factory reset the device, tap “Erase all data (Factory reset)” > “reset phone
  7. Then tap “Erase everything” to confirm

Uninstall Apps in Safe Mode:

NOTE: In case a third-party app causes issues and prevents you from removing it, you should be able to remove the app while in Safe Mode. In this mode all third-party apps are disabled by default.

  1. Press and hold “Power
  2. From the power management pop-up, tap and hold “Power off
  3. After the phone finishes rebooting, a “safe Mode” watermark should be visible on the home screen
  4. To remove an app, first open “Settings” and then go to “Apps & Notifications
  5. Make sure you view “All apps
  6. Select the desired app and tap “Uninstall” > “OK
  7. To exit Safe Mode, press and hold the “Power” key and select to restart your phone normally
