why i can't use IR for sending and receiving pictures from phone to phone??

It depends what kind of IRda you have.
1. Laptop irda built in - try changing options on Hardware manager (sorry i dont remember english name of this tab) and set speed to 115200 or 57600 kb. You can also try changing the hardware seller name . Ex. in my HP laptop i have USB irda by And turn on Irda in bios (setup). Try other irda device - if it works - probably you have phone broken. If not try changing options mentioned above.
2. Irda connected to main board - check connector , and all options above.
3 Buy USB- IRDA - it works great. I had built in irda in laptop but it won't work with NOkia. The USB one works perfect.

Yes it sucks. I have 7210, which is allmost the same. There is no chance for me to recieve pictures or midi from other phone. The only way to recieve files is from Pc to phone with Nokia PC Suite. You can get it on www.nokia.com + you have to buy IrDA.

Thats "Normal" for Nokia. You want to send pictures or midis ?? You have to buy DKU-5 cable .. maybe original from Nokia ... in Poland its for circa 80-90 USD .... oki there are also IRDA's but ...
You want a good working bluetooth headset ??? oki pay 100-150 USD for original from Nokia or ... headset from other vendor won't work ..

that's ok. i have pop-port camel (usb), but i have been askying about comunication with other phones.
