Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal”
- Tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to and tap “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for backup
- Enable the “Contacts” check box
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to your computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate and copy the media files on the phone storage
- Paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to your PC via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the media file backups from the PC to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” folder
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
