Back Up and Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account
- Enable “Automatic restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when you sign in with the backup account
Back Up and Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for backup
- Tick the “Contacts” check box
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: You can restore contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Computer:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the “Notification” area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Transfer “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer storage
- Copy and transfer the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
