Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up settings, app data, and passwords to your account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the account or reinstall applications
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for syncing the contacts
- Ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restore the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing them with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone storage
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory
- After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device form the USB port
