Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings”
- Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up settings, app data, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the account you wish to use for contact syncing
- Enable “Contacts” then tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing them with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC
- Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in their folder(s) of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
