Enable Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “Battery
  3. Tap “Menu
  4. Enable “Battery saver

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  3. Open “Settings
  4. Go to “Display
  5. Optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
  6. Tap “Sleep” for timeout options and select a lower value like “15 seconds

Disable Unused Connectivity Features:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, GPS, Hotspot, and Bluetooth, when not actively in use, you can avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi” “Location” and “Bluetooth” quick toggles to turn the features Off
  3. Open “Settings” for more options
  4. Go to “Location
  5. Tap “Mode” and enable “Battery saving
  6. For hotspot options, return to “Settings” and tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  7. Tap “Tethering & portable hotspot” and disable the feature

Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:

NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G networks.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Tap “More” under “Wireless & Networks
  3. Access “Mobile network” > “Preferred network type
  4. Enable “2G

Minimize Third-Party App Usage:

NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes that can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not actively in use. You can remove or disable unused third-party apps to potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Access “Apps
  3. Switch to “All apps” from the drop-down menu
  4. Select the desired app
  5. To disable the app, tap “Force Stop” / “Disable
  6. To remove the app, tap “Uninstall

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: You can change your accounts’ settings to reduce the amount of data synced by your accounts and potentially improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Go to “Settings
  2. Access “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired

Keep the OS Updated:

NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life improvements and thus it’s recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times. To check for updates:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Go to “About phone
  3. Tap “System updates
  4. Check if a new update is available
  5. If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update (the process will require at least one reboot)
