Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Personal” > “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with your backup account or reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Accounts”
- Select an account type
- Select the desired account and ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android device.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files form a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- Enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification shade
- Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media backup files on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
