Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open “Settings” and go to “Personal’
- Tap “Backup & Reset”
- Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when reinstalling apps or signing in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch “Settings”
- Access “Accounts” and select an account type
- Tap an account and ensure “Contacts” is checked
- Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored when you log in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the Android phone.
Back Up Media Files on a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the PC and locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable “File Transfer” or “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media backup files on the PC
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and disconnect the device from the USB cord
