Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Drag the brightness slider towards the left to decrease luminosity
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Display” and optionally, turn “Adaptive brightness” ON or OFF
- Tap “Sleep’ and select a lower value
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Battery” > “Menu”
- Enable “Battery saver”
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: You can turn the phone’s connectivity features Off when not in use in order to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life.
- On the home screen, swipe the Status bar down
- From the quick-toggle area, tap the “Wi-Fi” “Bluetooth” and “Location” quick toggles to disable the features
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Location” and tap “Mode”
- Enable “Battery saving”
- Go back to “Settings” and expand “Wireless & Networks”
- Turn “Tethering & Portable hotspot” Off
Temporarily Switch to 2G:
NOTE: If your phone runs low on battery and you don’t have quick access to a battery bank or wall socket, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by temporarily switching to 2G.
- Open “Settings”
- Go to “Wireless & Networks”
- Tap “Mobile networks”
- Access “Preferred network type”
- Enable “2G”
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps perform regular background processes which can potentially affect the phone’s battery life even when the apps are not in use. By disabling or removing unused third-party apps, you might improve battery life in the long run.
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “Apps” and switch to “All apps” if needed
- Select the desired app and tap “Disable” / “Force Stop”
- To remove the app completely from the phone, tap “Uninstall”
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can potentially improve battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your accounts.
- Open “Settings”
- Access “Accounts”
- Select an account type and the desired account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can potentially improve battery life and it’s recommended to keep the OS updated at all times.
- Launch “Settings”
- Go to “About phone” > “System updates”
- Check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the prompts to download and apply the update
