Back Up & Restore App Data:

  1. Launch “Settings
  2. Access “Personal” and tap “Backup & Reset
  3. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
  4. Enable “Automatic Restore” to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when logging in with the backup account or reinstalling apps

Back Up & Restore Contacts:

  1. Open “Settings
  2. Go to “Accounts
  3. Select an account type and the desired account
  4. Check the “Contacts” tick box
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now

NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the Android device.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. On the phone, enable “File Transfer” / “Media device” at the prompt or from the Notification area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Navigate to the media files on the phone
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
  6. Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

Restore Media Files from a PC:

  1. Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
  2. Enable “Media device” / “File Transfer” on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the computer
  5. Copy and transfer the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
  6. Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
