    Re: Palm Pre

I am not looking forward to a Palm with a keyboard that opens up/moving parts.
what is Palm web OS? is that compatible with Palm OS?
I hope it has a flash for the camera and loud external speakers.
So far, it doesn't sound like my cup of tea.

I agree, the beauty of the Palm products are the keyboard.

The Palm Web OS is not compatible with the Palm OS as far as I know.

Ofcourse I could doing a "grapes are sour" thing, since there aren't for any plans for a GSM versions in the US.

I believe it said GSM in countries that Sprint does not operate in.

    Palm Pre Reviews

Palm Pre is released for Sprint Wireless. It has a unique ability to multi-task processing and notification system. Powerful display, nice feel of web broswer, multimedia and so on. The Palm Pre offers good call quality, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and so on. A little disappointed is the battery life, lack of expansion slots. All in all, it is a good Sprint cell phone. Worth looking forward to

    Eclipse Mobiles Palm Pre Review

Eclipse Mobile Reviews The Palm Pre

    Screen

The single best multitouch screen we have ever seen, with 320x480 resolution, all we see is crisp, smooth , clean Colors.

Though its glossy, "Bubbly" appeal adds to its sleek design, even at its brightest setting its hard to see with even a slight glare of the sun.

    Shape and Body

The body on the Pre is Sharp in more ways then one.

I love the full Qwerty keyboard tucked perfectly away behind the screen, in fact at first glance I thought the Keys would be to close together and I would make numerous mistyped, however , that wasn't the case, The keys feel perfect! I'm not sure if it is the curve of the buttons or if there placed just right, but one handed or Two, I have had no problems with texts or emails.

Finally, the Palm Pre fits perfectly in my "Palm" open or closed, it feels just right.

    Battery

Battery Life isn't as bad as others may make it out to be. I manage to make it through a full day on may occasions without the battery fully discharging. However.....I like data usage, and a-lot of it...and on those days, I found myself charging at-least twice a day.

    Camera.

3.0 Megapixel, and Wonderful, Fast Camera shots and all shots were crystal Clear.
Lack of a Timer and a few other useful features make me a-little unhappy but not a deal breaker for me.

    Video Recording

There isn't any!!!! And that is very depressing~

    WebOS

Whats not to like? Open Source...Linux......Sleek Design....Finger Swipe....
All around, its tons of fun.

My Favorite Feature is the Swipe Away Feature, I love being in a phone call where the person on the other end is getting rather annoying, What do I Do? No I don't hang up..I throw throw them away, Mid sentence. So Much fun.

All and all, Of all the phones we have tested and reviewed, So far, this is one of our favorite smartphones.

Yes you are correct It was really heaps ahead of overheating batteries and VERY poor battery life, not to mention poor customer service. pfft! Apple? nevermind. I'd take Palm any day, at least with Palm you get good customer service.

    Re: Palm Pre

The Palm Pre features live email, which means that whenever you get a new email, it is pushed directly onto your phone. You don't have to wait manually push a refresh button or wait for a scheduled sync. And if your email has attachments, you can view audio, video, images, and other documents directly on the Pre. For business users, the Pre can connect to your work email through Microsoft Exchange Activesync, making things easy for your IT department.
