I was initially pretty excited by the announcement of the new EDGE-enabled
Z500a ... until I noted that for some inexplicable reason, Bluetooth was left
out! Likewise IR (unlike the K500), so only cable connection is possible.
    Whatever were they thinking?!

Instead I upgraded to the Motorola V551, which I highly recommend.

I am assuming it has edge as the ad on the Cingluar web site does not
list it as a feature. That is why I did not bother looking at that phone.
Thanks, I will search for more info about that phone.

Motorola V551 is EGPRS(EDGE) Class 4, for speed of up to about 100 Kbps.
Sony Ericsson Z500a is Class 10, for speed of up to about 150 Kbps.
The upcoming Motorola V360 will also be Class 10.
