Recently signed up for Cingular's "Pay As You Go" (flat $.25/minute)
service. Incoming calls that are forwarded to voicemail get "To page
this person press 5" than a beep. Menu options 1 thru 4 are available,
but Cingular prefers not to make that information available to callers.
Two calls to Cingular tech support resulted in "that's how it's
supposed to work" responses. The CSR who handled the second call did
    apologize.

If you've got the prepaid service, does your voicemail act like mine?

i think this is how it works for everone..

it says, you have reached an automatic voice message system.. the number,
###-###-#### is not available.. to page this person press 5 now.. then it
beeps.. you can leave a voice message or press 5 and leave a number.

    its how its always been..

My mom was asking about this also whenever she calls my brother she gets
the same message. It is the default message. She gets confused thinking
    she got someone's pager instead.

    Dave,

Access your voice mail and select "Change Personal Options". From this menu
, pick "Change Administrative Options". Next, select "Cut-through Paging
Options" and follow the prompts to turn it "OFF". From this point forward,
the VM will no longer give the option of "To page this person, press 5 now".

You can also turn the prompt off while leaving the option active, but why
    bother?

BTW, not all prompts may come up in your menu every time you access VM.
Normally, if you press 0 you will get more options than the defaults.

    Mark
