Is it possible to download viruses in the form of .jar files?

I ask this becuz i donwloaded a jar file to my PC , which i intended
to then download to my t610.

However. my comp crashed soon after Win Zipping and would shut down
after rebooting for a few seconds. Thank God for safe mode and system
restore!

I performed a thorough scan with Panda AV Titanium and found
nothing...
