I can't send sms to my Z600 from my Palm Tungsten T3 because when I try to launch the SMS application I get an 'sms can't launch due to missing localization information' error.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.

You aren't alone, that same thing happened to me and I don't know why.

I'm guessing, but have you upgraded from an earlier Palm? On the T3 SMS is
hardcoded into the rom. If you got your new T3 and plunked it into the
cradle and hotsync'd from an earlier Palm you will find you have 2 versions
of SMS. Do a menu>delete>SMS and then a soft reset. Worked for me...

I really thought you had it there. Unfortunately, although I have an icon
the SMS app doesn't appear in my delete list....pah!

That's OK, you can use the Filez freeware utility to delete the SMS
files, and it works! Thanks for the tip, I can SMS from my Palm now
:-)
Cheers,
Philip.

Re: sms can't launch due to missing localization information
And I've managed to delete the sms file and the now the app runs without an
error.
However, when I sms to my Z600, the sms app on the palm behaves as if the
sms has been sent but the phone make no reaction at all and the message
hasn't appeared in my sent folder. I tried texting my own mobile number and
the phone gave me an error message saying it couldn't send the text.
All the messages in my inbox successfully uploaded to my palm though. I'm
just not certain it's getting as far as actually sending a text from the
phone.
Any ideas?
