I (and many others it seems) just get 'server not found'. It seems you
have to put in ip addresses instead of pop3/smtp server names but I've
    had no luck with this.

You can set up your network account and e-mail online using SE's
configurators. It's free of charge, and the settings are transferred to
your phone by SMS. Give it a try:

That's what I thought but the other day I got the "server not found"
error on my T610 which I set-up with IP addresses. So I removed the IP
addresses and entered the pop and smtp server names, surprisingly both
incoming and outgoing mail started working perfectly.

The trouble with entering IP addresses is that your ISP can change
    them, mine certainly has. (

I've never put in the IP address for the server, and haven't had
    problems- I've used a T39, T68 and now a T610. Even roaming abroad on
gprs, no problem. I've occasionally had the "server not found" message,
but that's usually been temporary problems with my mobile company.

Same here, with a T39m, although I don't have experience with GPRS
roaming myself. (Apparently China Mobile does not have a GPRS
roaming agreement with both of the two german operators I tried, E+
and D2. With a China Mobile SIM it worked fine, though.)

ditto, i hate the way they setup the e-mail system.
but it'll be all good, we are working on a cool java app that'll make all
    that way easier and simpler.
