    X-No-Archive: yes

Received yesterday a new Z200 as a gift, today I've discovered that the
only things I can send to the phone via PC connection (IRDA) are those
    crap microscopic pictures. Nothing else.

No SMS transfer to PC. No phonebook synchronization. No data backup.
Impossible to connect to my Palm M515 (AAAAAAAAAAAARGHHHHHH!!!) :-((((((

Someone out there please can explain me what the hell is this phone,
perhaps an experiment from SE? For what?!?!? :-(((

    I'm not asking for a matter-antimatter pocket-sized dilythium chamber, I
don't want to purchase the White House to let my parents have nice
holidays this summer. I just would like to have an honest phone, with a
built-in modem (seller told me that the phone actual haves the internal
modem, but perhaps mine one is vanished during the delivery in these
cold days here in Rome, Italy); I would just ask to have the possibility
to save my poor SMSes on the laptop, nothing more. No MMS, no 3D games,
no home theatre hyperstereo ringtones, no hyperspace ultrablue tooth...

    Just my little SMS messages...

I can't believe it, this Z200 is nothing but "much ado about nothing",
very very high level design, but really nothing useful inside. Just
    whistles and bell.

Not to mention the problems with the software functions, the interface
design sure comes from the mind of a mad: no way to setup a recurrent
event, and if you set an alarm its settings comes to cover the current
date area (WHY?????); and of course you cannot setup a recurrent alarm,
    oh no; and so on...

    Avoid it.

Or do hope in a massive firmware upgrade from those peoples at SE. But I
think they'll choose to release a new version of the phone, and hell to
all those customers who paid for the silly Z200!!!

I'm going to look back to my old good, half-broken, twenty-dollars
Motorola Timeport T250... Let's start with returning the phone back to
    the seller.

    :-(((((((((((((

Yes I agree with you. A few weeks ago I expressed my disappointment with the
Z200 but the "moral majority" out there defended SE to the hilt (it would
appear blindly in most cases) and rubbished my criticisms. I feel somewhat
exonerated by the fact that somebody else feels as disappointed with the
    Z200 as I did.

I am a confirmed SE fan and will not be changing from that but when a phone
is as hyped as the Z200 has been we do expect a great deal more. The Z200
has slipped under the radar on the coat-tails of the truly superb Z600.

I don't know what you all expect to pay for the Z200 but might I suggest you
look at the T230 which is substantially less expensive and far more
    functional.

On the matter of picture transfer using the Z200 please beware! The SE Image
Editor will produce images that are incompatible with the phone. You have to
make your Image Editor image and then convert to GIF.

Guys, hold your horses. Z200 is an entry level phone. I know I may sound as
the "SE moral majority" here, but do a little research before you buy a
    phone.

In the case of Falco it was a present. It's OK. And the price is right.

Yes it is entry level in terms of functionality - but not by price.

You get what you pay for, even if it was a gift!

Well, this is what you pay for.
The price is not right for the functions, but the price is right for the
    design.
The Nokia 3100 is a better phone (screen, functions) and is even cheaper,
but hasn't got a design (it's just another Nokia).
I would choose the functions this time and go for the Nokia 3100, but other
people choose design, so this Z200 isn't a "failure".

I am very happy with my T610 which has (for me) design ànd functions ;-)

    Kind regards,

    Hasj Pee
