my ericsson T18z turns on and shuts itself off after finsing the network
does anyone know the cause of this problem? and if so please help.

Are you sure your battery is still in good condition?
You have a rather old phone ......
If the battery is totally worn out it can happen that the phone switches off
the moment the transmitter part starts to work due to a totally drop of the
battery voltage (high current + bad battery = problem :>)) )
