    the manual says only 0-9 can be used for speed dialing.
    Any way to be able to speed dial location "88"..press 8 and againg hold
    down 8 to dial?

    Ni, but you can press any two digit number followed by hash and the number
    stored in that position comes up. pain in the ass to configure which number
    in which slot though IIRC.

    The easy way to get around this is to skip using the lame-o "speed dial"
    implementation and just dial off the SIM.

    That way you have 255 "speed dials"

    On nearly every mobile phone I have, dialing "3#" will let me dial the
    number 3 position on my SIM.

    Just arrange people however you want and set it up.

    I usually put 1# to be my voicemail number just to make it easy.
