Thanks.

Re: Sony Ericsson T610
I got mine this week, its a great little phone, but mine is branded with
Vodafone live (UK) and the graphics are not as nice as the original SE
unbranded T610, however £30 and a trip to a mobile phone dealer type
bloke will sort that out
The only annoying things I have found with it are:
1) Battery life - I charged the fone fully over nite, and by yesterday
evening (it was on its last drips of energy) However I was dong a lot
of playing around with the camera so this may be a good reason as to
why.
2) Incrementing ringtone. The phones tone will not kick in to full
strength for a couple of seconds.
3) Vodafone branding - not much I can do about that considering the
fone was a free upgrade, but it can, and will be unlocked
Apart from thsoe things, I am happy with my phone. I have a couple of
technical problems which I think are more to do with the service
provider than the phone (not being able to send/recieve email or
recieve MMS)
The camera is OK and does a job, bluetooth and IT work a treat, and
there are plenty or resources online to enhance the phone.

Re: Sony Ericsson T610
I bought it two weeks ago.
It is a very nice phone with a good and large display.
The only things I miss are the LED's for the network and Bluetooth like the
T68m.
Try the phone at http://www.sonyericsson.com.

if you've played with the phone, this means the displays backlight was
on.
This has major effects on energy consumption. On my T68i and my T300
the battery life will come to an end after about 4 hours of backlight
activity. I think, it's similar on the T610.
So the time you've seen has nothing to do with actual standby time (at
least I hope so).

4) Can't see a damn thing in bright sunlight.
5) Themes take a while to load and screensavers run very slowly
6) Picture quality is not bad but no good in the dark (see another thread
for the impending flash unit) and you have to keep the phone VERY still.
7) Start up sound is very low
8) When you view templates etc it automatically saves them in 'unsent
items' - very annoying
9) Voicetags are VERY quiet (don't see the point of the phone repeating
them when you highlight a name when you can't hear a thing)
On the plus side:
1) Bluetooth is Ace.
2) Java games are Ace
3) Poly tones are excellent quality
4) Camera is very easy to use and pics are easily shared
5) Display resolution is superb
All in all a great phone. I have a PDA (Palm M505) so the 610 suits me. If
you are after Organiser abilities I would imagine there are better options
around.

Had mine two weeks today.
Pros:
- Great sounding polytones
- Assign pictures to contacts
- Bluetooth & IR
- Fairly decent camera for a phone
Cons:
- Screen unusable in sunlight
- You have to navigate to the "Shortcut Menu"
- Standby screen joystick actions not customisable
- 'Screensaver' replaced by a clock after 10 seconds (not adjustable)
- Auto keylock delay not adjustable
- Handsfree not included
- ugly
That doesn't sound too good but it's got more pluses than some other
phones:
V200 pros:
- Killer looks
- Great screen
7250 pros:
- Looks cool

Re: Sony Ericsson T610
I've got mines a few weeks.
You can compare this cellular phone with pocket pc's. It has a full
functional organizer, which is the main function i bought this camera
for. It's a great phone! About the battery.. camera and ringtones will
end up in an empty accu fast...

Left joystick selects whatever is at the top of the Shortcuts so you can
customise this.

Re: Sony Ericsson T610
i got mine and had been using for 1 month. i just love the phone. the
shape looks nice more like a controller shape. as far as i concern,
onli thing is that the system responded slow like anyother SE or
ericsson phone. The file sharing is supereb. no convertion needed,
direct transfer jpg, gif, midi to and from the phone. Decteded as a
modem my computer and can dail into gprs like normal modem (speed might
be slower). having morphun game is really "More Fun" their games is
nice and can have network games through bluetooth (no longer need to
point to each other like infra-red).
