Help please for a new user...
I cannot persuade the 610 and the PC to talk. I have installed a Windigo
USB dongle and can see the 610 using the Windogo Blue manager software,
though the only available service is DUN. I can send a picture to and from
the 610 using this software. I am using XP home on the PC.
If I use the XTNDConnect software that came with the 610 to sychronise
outlook then it just returns "unable to open connection. No device
present". The Ericsson picture editor also fails to recognise the 610.
If I ask the 610 what services the PC supports, it just returns "object
push".
Are there different types of bluetooth dongle? This one is class 2. What
is the difference between class 1 & 2, or is it even relevant?
All help gratefully received.
Thanks

Hi Chris,
I have exactly the same problem with the Windigo dongle and software,
after grabbing the updates, I still cannot sync the phone with M$
Outlook. To be honest have given up on the project and moved on to
play with my P800 now :-)
Sorry I cannot offer any more help on what seems to be a common
problem.

Re: T610 bluetooth conection problems
Be sure to pair the T610 with your BT dongle software,
assign with the PC BT software a COM port (4 to 12) to the T610 serial port
1,
go, on the PC, to the control panel where you can find Phone Monitor,
select the COM port you assigned to the T610 connection.
I tried it on several USB dongles (Fujitsu, FreeNet, ...) and this procedure
always functions,
sometimes you have to connect and the devices via some software before you
can use the Ericsson software, but it always works.

Thanks
I have enabled the COM ports and these are used for BT DUN, LAN, Serial etc.
But how do I assignto the T610 serial port 1?
I can get the BT software to see the phone but the SE sychronising software
won't.

Re: T610 bluetooth conection problems
On the PC let the BT software discover you're T610 and pair to the T610
serial port 1, assign a serial port 4.
Go to the CONTROL PANEL on the PC and search for the option PHONE MONITOR,
change the assigned COM port to COM4.
When you push the synchronize button in Outlook the coneection should e
opened and the synchronization must be done.

This indeed is the correct procedure but SE's Phone Monitor s/w is very
fragile & can even loose the serial connection on ports 1&2. At least
Belkin's (Widcomm) BT s/w's file transfer allows me to upload my pics.
I've got a lot of troubleshooting to do under XP

if someone told me earlier that Belkin uses Widcom Software trhen I
might have snapped in earlier ...
The most successfull way to sync is for me to create the serial
connection, start the MMS Home Studio, wait 'till it shows my phone
(takes sometimes up to 15 sec.) then launch Outlook and start the
sync. This way it always worked smooth, all other methods sooner or
later failed for the SE Phone Monitor is UTTER CRAP!

Since installing the BT s/w, my PC will no longer switches off but
reboots. Sigh. I managed to get it to sync eventually, probably buy
opening a virtual serial connection. This dongle cost £25 but was
cheaper than the SE serial cable. Syncing Outlook is still deathly slow,
must look at the port settings. The MSI dongle is much cheaper but I
don't know anything about the drivers & s/w.
