Hi, I am looking to have the firmware "flashed" on my 14 mth old
handset. Therefore I will have to pay for it to be done.Is there fixed
price for this service? also any recommendations on where to have it

Letting us know where you are in the world may allow us to recommend someone
local to you - we're not all psychic you know ;-)

I would strongly advise a SonyEricsson service centre and I believe the cost
would be about £10 or a little less.

Good advice, but the last time I checked it was considerably more than that.
As always an authorised service centre is the best bet, but you will find
that many of the regular posters (ourselves included) may offer a faster and
more economical solution. Whoever you get to do it, the latest firmware is
    R8A015, don't accept anything less.

I'm sure I remember that Nokia service centre quoting me £30+ for a 3330
    flash upgrade :-(

New firmware is worth it IMO anyhow.
