When I open the call list on the phone, it displays a list of the
received/dialled numbers.
If I leave the scroll bar on an call list entry, it cycles to the call time
after several seconds...but it will not display the call date..anyone know
how todisplay the the date the call was received?

I don't know how the T610 works exactly, but I suspect it works the same way
as previous models, like my T39, where the call time is replaced by the call
date when the call was made/received more than 24 hours ago. The call list
also has a bug or what you want to call it: If you swap SIM cards, some
information is removed, like received messages, but the call list remains in
the phone, but all call dates are replaced by the time/date when the SIM was
last swapped. Is this bug fixed on the T610?

Almost right. In fact it shows the time of the calls of the same day.
After midnight, all previous calls are changed to the date. If you
want to know the exact time of a call of any previous day, there
is a workaround: Set the date to the date of the call, and the
time will reappear again.

Re: T610 Call list
Thanks, this design seems crap. It did not explain this in the user guide
either.
